~The Gebran family has been in the restaurant business since 1974.  The first restaurant opened by the Gebran family was in Cedar Rapids , Iowa .  The restaurant, "Oscar's" was named after the father.  Oscar, wanting to instill good and traditional work ethics in his four sons, actually used the assistance of his, then young boys, to help in the building of their first restaurant.

After many successful years at Oscar's and after having made tens of thousands of pancakes and fried even more eggs (two eggs to each pancake) Oscar and the boys sold the business in 1990 and moved to Tempe Arizona and purchased the U.S. Egg Restaurant in 1991. Oscar and his four sons carried on with selling thousands of eggs and pancakes….only in a much better climate (If you have ever spent a winter in a mid-western city the reasons are obvious) with fancier recipes…you know how the folks are in the southwest….always wanting to blaze new trails!

Oscar and the boys are still at it. No one seems too thrilled about getting a normal job. They have too many friends to visit each day at work and look after, wanting to making sure every person entering the U.S. Egg doors is well taken care of and has everything they need to make each meal a good experience. Besides, they enjoy closing shop at 2:30 each day and going home to their neighborhood, where they all live on the same street and share dinner, daily.

A meal at the U.S. Egg is like a meal at your own home or rather at our own home.  We use only the finest ingredients such as fresh fruits and vegetables and no preservatives.  Our food is nutritious from our homemade potatoes and fries down to our daily made soups, sauces, and freshly baked muffins.  All of our food is extraordinary, and everyone should experience our Protein Pancake (with two eggs on the side, of course) at least once. It's our signature item!

If you want to experience a crowd ranging from city officials to club hoppers stop into the U.S. Egg and give us a visit.  You'll be greeted by a crew of lovely and friendly servers….and of course the four boys. You can always count on Gebran and Mario for a genuine handshake, Mike's award winning wink, and George's smile that fills the room…..Oh, and Oscar….he's around…..always keeping an eye on everyone to make sure that work ethic is in tact.~
